Just got my replacement antenna from DEI and got it all hooked up. Went to try it out and it doesn’t work at all! The remote says its not even getting a signal. I tried my friends antenna before and it worked fine, is it possible since my friends antenna was the first one I used my remote on its now locked to that antenna? Maybe I have to just buy a new transmitter. Any help would be great, thanks!
The remote does not “lock into” the ant., it is programed to the alarms RF section, [the alarm “remembers” the remote] it makes no difference what ant. is used, [as long as it is the proper ant. for your alarm.
You may possibly have inadvertently erased the remote from the alarm, try reprogramming it.
Also make sure the ant. is plugged in properly, unplug it and inspect the receptacle(s) to make sure none of the pins have been bent out of the way.
It is always possible you received a DOA ant., if you can, try your friends ant. again.94
will do thanks
OK figured it out. In the manuals they say when programming a transmitter you open a door, then turn ignition on, then tap the valet button once and hold (for auto setup). Then it says while still holding it down push a button on the transmitter. This never worked. Aparently they forgot to add your supposed to hold down the “P” programming button on the transmitter for adding it. all other buttons are used when adding a certain function. oh well works now.
