is it normal for the clutch to let out like 1 inch from the floor meaning a second after you let off the clutch it engages …can that be adjusted…and everytime i speed shift i get a grind in 3rd gear…does this mean its my gears cuz ive noticed that its kinda hard to get into 2nd and 3rd alot
you can adjust the engagement point by turning the nut on the clutch cable.
if you just got the clutch installed you shouldn’t be “speed shifting” (what is speed shifting??) yet. You should break in the clutch w/ some around town driving, no high rpm engagements.
about the grinding. If its grinding now but wasn’t before then it probably isn’t your synchros. Chances are you just aren’t used to the clutch engaging so low. And thus are putting the tranny into gear before the clutch is fully in. Get used to it before you start romping around.
ok thanx for the info, i dont know the correct term for shifting fast, my bad ,but ive tried to adjust the clutch cable, how do you turn it , it wont budge
keep trying, it’s a little bitch to try and turn for the first time in a while, if you want it to catch a little farther off the floor, rotate it clockwise.
IVE TRIED TURNING IT WITH JUST MY HAND AND THERES NOT BUDGE …WHAT IS THAT LITTE PIN LOOKING THING THAT SEEMS TO BE STOPPING IT FROM TURNING… IS THERE SOMETHING SPECIAL YOU HAVE TO DO? … SORRY IM SUCH AND IDIOT BUT I WANT TO GET THIS DONE
i believe that rubber pin is just a safe gaurd to stop the nut from loosing itself, makes your day just that much harder. stick a wrench down there to budge it loose, then once loose use your fingers. try using WD40 or monolex to lube it.
or can you pull the pin out? anyone?
THANX FOR THE HELP MAN…PRECIATE IT ALOT…I FIXED IT , THE CLUTCH LETS OUT MUCH FATHER, I HAVE TO GET USED TO IT ALL OVER AGAIN , AT LEAST ITS NOT LETTIN OUT AT THE FLOOR…BTW, YOU HAVE AN AFTERMARKET CLUTCH?
