Got my teg back(review)

Here’s what I had done to my b16:

12lb lightened flywheel
Pr3-4 head, 3 angle vlave job and mill(.030) Portflow
P30 intake manifold
JDM p30 block
NGK BCPR7… plugs
New motor mounts
Compression 11.2:1

I dialed the ignition timing to 18degrees. I adv, the intake cam 1 degreeI retarded the exhaust cam -3 degree. I want to keep all the power in the top end. So far the car runs damn lovely. I’m guessing much of the power is from the higher comp. The lightened flywheel is noticeable as well. Good call on that one. The motor feels a lot torquier and seems to rev up to 8500 faster with more umph. I know the stock cams stop making power around 7800 or so, but I can find some fun beyond 8000, with some more airflow(I/H/E/TB) and fuel(Mugen p28 brain). I have to ease up on the gas to get out of first as well. I’m guessing that’s from my new mounts. The ACT 6pad grabbed hard b4, but It’s wheelspin now instead of chirping.

I’m going to play with the exhaust sprocket a little more. Overall, I 'm very satisfied with the motor. My next goal for the motor is a set of ITR cams. I’ll let you guys know so you guys who want some direction where to go with their b16.

Sorry but what’s a P30? It’s b16 right?

what kind of numbers do you think you are getting out of that set up? and what times you pullin at the 1/4 mile?

First, the JDM p30 is out of the SiRII. It’s from 1992 and up. I’m almost positive that this car is very capable of a high 14sec 1320 pass. My LS two years ago ran a 15.2 in the s**tiest of shape. This motor is just faster.

I’ve got a b16a in my Integra w/ AEM cam gears, AEM cold air intake, and 2.5” cat back exhaust. What I’ve found to work great is +2 on the intake and -1.5 exhaust (marks). So +4 degrees on the intake cam and -3 degrees exhaust cam. The idle is noticeably rougher however the car still streetable and runs very strong.

Yeah, I tried to adv. the intake cam, but my compression is too high, so I want to be safe. So I just retarded the exhaust 1 mark or 2 degrees. I’m going to try to retard it 3 degree soon. I’m still trying to see what the exhaust cam will do in terms of power depending how much I retard or adv. it.
