Grigio silverstone metallic

I have a older (obviously… 1.7 gsr). Looking for something different
So I am leaning towards a different color this spring. Gunmetal gray
Specifically Grigio silverstone from Ferrari. Ie Italian. What is your opinions?
I like the color, plus I am trying to integrate dc2 headlights as well.
I know I still have to modify the fenders, I have the headlights and the
Paint would be be less than a few hundred. I have the gun and compressor
Just looking for opinions on the project. I am not not big on the whole
Color change from red to grey. But I think totally worth it.
Thanks for the ideas.

I say go ahead with the silver, I’d love to see it done. I’m wanting to do mine a gray/silver sometime soon myself.

On to the part I’m going to beg you not to do. Please don’t do a front end conversion…
It’s like making a DA disappear, it’s no longer a DA after that, but it’s your car, I can not stop you.

It’s not a front end conversion per se, I just like the projector headlights on
the dc2 which I have already bought and just plan to modify the fenders and hood
Slightly to make them look stock. I have a welder and other means to try to make them
Look original, my goal anyways. I live in Minnesota so it has become a
Spring project that I am planning on. Plus I am eligible for collector plates
Here too. I will post pictures when I get them.

What have you painted before?

Why not do the retrofit and put projectors into 1 pieces… IMO I think it would be a better option you are keeping it all a “DA” you know
but it is your car at the end of the day.

I cracked one of my one piece jdm headlights, so I bought the the jdm dc2 ones with the projectors with the option of later going HID with the projectors.
I still have to cut the fenders on each side, and the end of the hood to make them fit, still working with that, I do have them wired to go, but they are bigger than
the old jdm one pieces than I had. There really isn’t much on how to do the retrofrit, but grind and weld that I have seen to make them work. I may post pictures, on what I
do to make them fit. I am tired of red of the original car, i painted it before too. This time I have a extra vehicle, so I can live with some down time, so I am debating to go all the way and
pull the motor to paint the engine bay and all of the door jams and trunk. This is a original 1993 GS-R that only has 180,000 miles on it so I have to kept it as stock as possible.
Now I don’t care, so I plan to hack the fenders and hood and paint it grigio silverstone metallic from Ferrari. I will post picks of my progress when it warms up here in Minnesota, even though I did get a
furnace for the garage. It costs alot for natural gas and my ceiling in the garage isn’t insulated yet. Any more suggestions is more than welcome. I am just laying out my plans this Spring, I have the tools to
make this happen, although not very skilled but…

You’re going to have to hack up the rad support also considering those lights are bigger. As long as you have experience with welding it shouldn’t be that hard to do. Metal shaping will be involved with this project

Please don’t revert to the 90’s with the headlight conversion. In the end it’s your car but it will never look like a proper G2.
