Ground Control Coilover Sleeves on stock shocks???

Whats up guys, i just bought some GC’s to go on my stock shocks, will the stock shocks last me a long time or should i go ahead and buy the KYB shocks for it?? Would appreciate your comments…

Stock shocks are made for stock springs which also work the best with them. If you use stock shocks with aftermarket springs, chances are you will blow your shocks sooner or later.

I recommend you upgrade your shocks when you have the time and don’t forget to get your wheels aligned after you lower your car.

Yea looks like im going to have to upgrade the shocks also, and thanks for the advice =)

im lowered on Eg kyb agx with ground control they go pretty low make sure to get dc/eg front forks! the back sits lower but can easly adjust…ride quality isnt soo bad its stiff and can feel wtf is on the floor and my damn control arm bangs my fender everytime i miss a pothole or hit dip…sucks to ride hard

Dont bother with stock shocks, just pick up a set of koni yellows and call it a day.

FYI Ground control Springs have a set for stock struts and a set for koni struts you may want to check to see what you got and what the difference is. only reason I know is because I’m looking at the same setup and the ground controls made specifically for Koni’s are a little bit more price wise.

when your shocks go bad your tires go bad. they start cupping. get shocks now not later. dont get oem equivlent kyb shocks thats just a waste of shocks, tires and time.
+1 on koni yellows, they have a lifetime guarantee but id get shock boots on them to be safe.
theres cheaper places than tire rack

Upgrade struts! The car is 20+ years old. If you are still ridin on the stock shocks, it is time to change them. Most shock/strut manufactories say to change them out between 50k-70k miles. You will notice the differents. The Ebay coilovers are a cheap way out, but ride rough. I went with Tokico blue struts and Tein Luxury Master springs. My car stays planted and has a reasonible ride. It has about a 1.5" front and 1" rear drop. The S-tech is a stiffer spring and drops the car 2" front and rear.
