Ground Wire Points on Top of Engine

One of the grounding points seems to be missing a bolt.

What type/size/threading is it?

Just put one in that fits i thin a 10mm fits

It ended up being an M7 bolt.

I dont under stand why that point needs to be grounded if the.valve cover sitts on a rubber gasket. there is no metal to metal contact with the head?

My guess is that it is for the spark plugs. Even with the valve cover having a connection through the bolts to the block, the wires could contribute for additional current flow.

The wire is pretty thick, like 8 gauge I think, so by design, I’m thinking there is quite a bit of current that needs to be grounded. The silly little wire to where I needed the screw was probably to get more contact area, as the terminal ring with the big wire connects mostly with just the nut.

After I change out my battery ground wire, I plan to change this one out with new wire and terminals, maybe going up a gauge.
