Hello all, thought i would share my project I just started working on.
Donor DB2
pulled all the interior
engine, transmission, other parts removed
Donor DB2 came from a police impound auction $310.00.
b17a1/ys1
k-sport coilovers
k-sport rear lower control arms
k-sports rear camber kit
skunk2 front upper control arms.
off the scrap yard
started cleaning up the swap
found this under all the dirt… bummer…
Picked up a 92 GS clean title no accidents for 800.00
LS pulled, lucky for me it has a YS1 transmission in.
cleaned the bay up a little bit
Great pickup on that GSR! You likely have noticed it already but the front mount holes on your trans are also damaged. Good thing you’ve got that donor YS1
Ive had a few people tell me to weld the transmission but I think ill just swap the case and the LS 5 gear. I’m not a fan of the high revs on the freeway.
Its going to be a slow process.
here what I got done last night. Having trouble with the rear mount (hasport 70a kit)
Coming up next:
also ordered a Nardi steering wheel but its coming from china so I’m pretty sure its a knock off…
Once i pulled the t bracket off it was really easy. Finally got to drive it on Friday, I’m not liking the long gears so I’m going to push the transmission repair to the top of my list.
I got my ef rack in the mail today so ill be installing that tonight hopefully.
so I’m having a couple of problems. I have codes 21, 23, and 43
My fuel pressure is set to 40 psi with vacuum.
Need to turn up that fuel pressure son to at least 50 psi
When i put my b20 in i had the stupid code 43 all the time till i got info & never had a code 43 in 3 yrs so far …worth a shot anyways
Code 23 knock sensor could be bad u dont know since its a donor motor right??? Heres what i was going to do when i was goin to put a vtec head on my b20 i was told i could either use my knock sensor since i have the high compression b20z …OR i can just ground the knock sensor wire to the body , assuming you have no rattling suspension ; ie knocking struts or bad rattling shocks or wore out bushings bcuz thats all that knock sensor does is look for knocking , now with that being said , if you ground it to the body just be sure to make sure your timing is correct & use 91 or 93 octane to insure of no knocking & you’ll be good . I believe this info is on my instrution sheet i got from “Phearable” when i ordered my ecu & jumper harnesses -hope this helps out
