GS vs. LS??

Does anyone know what the major differences were between the GS and the LS? I’ve looked all over the internet, and any comparisons are pretty vague.

To add to the confusion, I think there were also differences in Canadian and US models.

Thoughts, anyone?

Canadian had manual seatbelt+black headliners on black interior.

GS was basically an LS but with alot of the extra options stock. I believe a few of the option an LS can come without are things like power windows, power locks, and maybe some other small things. Not to much different.

I think thats about it.

But what I think is funny is all the ricers who actually believe an LS is the best just because Integras are referred to as an LS alot and the whole LS/Vtec fad.

I know the GS has ABS and the LS doesnt.

I have an LS and it has everything but ABS and power locks. So maybe the GS has standard power locks as well.

Other differences are seat patterns, alloy wheels, stereo headunit? and painted moldings also came on the GS.

Idk if leather was available on the LS but but it was an option on the GS.

Try a search most of this stuff has been covered.

This will help if you havent looked at it yet…http://www.g2ic.com/specs.php

my 93 LS-SE has ABS, painted moldings, alloy wheels:shrug:

Ok there crackerjack heres the deal. I’m in a good mood. I;m going to give a crash course in integra 101. Ready? The US 1990 - 1993 Integra was a lego car aside from the 92-93 GS-R model you could get almost any option in any trim level. I was the proud owner of a 1990 GS without powerlocks.

This is true. They also had day time running lights if I’m not mistaken.

Again there have been examples of LS’s with power windows and locks and GS without powerlocks or a/c. Almost any combo of options you can think of is possible.

Nope.

See above about being a lego car.

Nope. That would be the LS-S and GS-R models.

Lego car for the win.

Legos for life

I thought abs was only available on the GS. and gsr

ABS only came on gs and gsr.

Wing came on gs and gsr

sunroof on gs and gsr

All canadian cars do not have Day time running lights that was implemented after 92, in which case it was still not always that way.

Power seatbelts were not on all canadian cars either, “thanks christ”.

And if u had a gs with out power options…then it was and rs not a gs. Rs=Ls.

Gs had all power options on them.

I don’t see the point of having model designations if the car was meant to be a lego car.

My current 1990 Integra GS Sedan does not have a sunroof. And my 1st integra

A 1991 GS did not have A/C, But both of them had/have leather and arm rest.

The only thing i can think of that were only on the GS was ABS and Lumbar adjusting seat’s… But i could be wrong.

Everything else you can have added.

I have an ls with lumbar.

Hmm lets make a lego car with model designations…dumb

So…I have a 93’ LS with power everything and moonroof/sunroof with gold emblems and leather seats. Originally powered by a B18A1. So what does that mean? I’m also the original owner.

:werd: my 93 LS-S comes stock with those. ABS, wing, sunroof ect.

92 GS
power locks / windows / sunroof / AC / ABS / Alloy rims / etc
Basically I have all options but leather interior & arm rest

This is what I have discovered around here:

GS

  • My '91 had power windows/locks, ABS, A/C, cruise and of course sunroof, adjustable lumbar and side supports, but black cloth interior (leather was an option) and a spoiler. I don’t remember if it had DRLs. It definately didn’t have power seatbelts, and I believe there was a regulation or something to that effect about cars not being able to have power seatbelts in Canada.
  • I’ve never seen a GS without a sunroof or spoiler (I’m not disupting they may exist).
  • My presumption is that the GS comes ‘standard’ with everything including ABS, but not leather.

LS

  • I’ve also never seen one without a sunroof or spolier.
  • I’ve never seen an LS with ABS.
  • I presume the ‘standard’ LS comes with power locks/windows, sometimes A/C (as an option), but not ABS.

RS

  • I’ve never seen an RS with a sunroof, but occasionally with a spoiler. (Again, not saying they don’t exist.)
  • My understanding is the RS typically came with steelies, but no ABS, no cruise, no power locks/windows, no lumbar seats or spoiler.

I’m sure power lock/window systems could be added to or removed from any model. Same for A/C, ABS and cruise, hence why they can be found on all trim levels. Sunroof, probably not. But, definately a ‘lego car’.

can we just settle on lego car?

I’ve been trying for years. This is the first thread where some “expert” hasnt told me that me saying my GS couple had manual locks makes me full of shit. So far in this thread everyone agrees that aside from the GS-R package pretty much any option could be had in any trim level.

I had two GSs…

My first one had everything but the leather seats.

My second one had everything but power locks and leather. YES, it was a GS.

And the 90-91s came with those swirlies…

90-91 GS came with steelies?

OMG read.

SWIRLIES.
