hey guys ive got a frost white 92 gsr and my rear hatch is extremely rusty, im having a hard time finding a hatch for the gsr and ive noticed it IS different then any other models since it doesnt have the holes in the rear glass for 3rd brake light. so my question is should i keep looking for a gsr hatch or get one from another model and put my rear glass and wing on there? are there any other differences other then rear glass and spoiler that im not aware of? thanks joe.
you can use any of the hatches, and just put your spoiler on there and wire it but not wire up the light in the window if you dont want it and it’ll be just fine

it might not be cost effective to swap the glass. I haven’t looked into the exact cost of something like that, but it might not be cheap, especially since you usually have to know what you’re doing to get the glass out w/o breaking it.
Either way you would have to put your spoiler on so that you would have that third brakelight. Just don’t worry about those holes, their not that bad. However, if the light is attatched to it you could wire the light and make an insert that says INTEGRA.
who says you need a 3rd brake light :shrug: I’ve been running w/o one for years…
Thats dangerous. It irks me when people do that, or when they don’t replace tail lights.
dangerous? Its not like I don’t have taillights and brake lights…3rd brake lights are only an added precaution, they’re there for the people who aren’t paying any damn attention when they drive. IMO, gsr glass w/ a wingless hatch is the way to go… nice and clean 
Some places where the cops are assholes, it is very illegal to run without the 3rd brakelight…

Hey driftt I have the hatch glass your looking for. but the gsr was in a wreck that I got it from and the hatch is twisted. The glass is perfect still that is the reason I kept it. Hit me up if your interested, I see your only a state away.
There’s a reason that every car on the road has three brake lights. Its a law.

Older cars didn’t come with them. Oh yeah, and it’s not that unsafe. I still got rear ended in my truck when I had my 3rd brake light. Although now I don’t have any bulbs in it cause I don’t like it. And my integra, well I got a jdm hatch and shaved the wing holes, no 3rd brake light on that either. Don’t need em. Pay the fuck attention and your insurance won’t go up when you rear end me.
Drift, I recently asked a local body shop (my friends dad) how much he would chage someone to swap the hatch glass out and install it on a new hatch. He said should be around $80-100. not too bad of a price.

It’s about safety, not about looks.
There’s a reason why old cars don’t have seat belts, and no passenger mirror, and no airbags, and no abs…I can go on. I know they are not all required by law, but they were put in because they save lives(except sometimes the older airbags).
I didn’t read the link, but from past reading it’s been found that the triangular formation made by the three light is much more affective than just the two lights. Of course it doesn’t stop a 98 year old driver from rear ending you, or a guy who has a heart attack and smacks your back end, but over all it helps, and yes it is required by law on all new cars. And it applies if your car came with one too. It came into affect around 1988. Canadians also have required Daytime running lights on all new cars, which my teg has.
Its not a garantee that you wont get rear ended, but it helps. That’s why they’re there.
Well for me it’s not about safety. IT IS ABOUT LOOKS. And thats whey they are not there on my vehicles. I took the airbags out of my truck to replace them with a billet steering wheel, and a ps2 over in the passenger location. Let me tell you, my passengers are so much happier :nana: It’s a show truck, if I wanted a safe vehicle that is legal, i wouldn’t have lowered it, modded it out, ect. Is your teg 100% stock?
thanks but the reason im asking is because my glass is fine, but my hatch is rusted.
also i would really prefer not have to use the rear glass from another model with the 3rd brake light in the glass. i guess im kind of a oem whore.
