GSR Head jdm from usdm

How May I tell the Difference between a jdm gsr head. and a Usdm Gsr head?

I think if the VTEC is bigger than the DOHC print on the valve cover then it is JDM.

Why would u base it off that when anyone can swap the valve cover and sell u shit

it is a way of telling. that’s what the guy was asking.

actually, no it isn’t.

from hmotorsonline:

JDM GSR:

JDM B16:

JDM B16:

JDM GSR:

As you can see, these are all JDM engines and vary.

The valve cover is NOT a way to tell. I honestly don’t know of any. It’s not like there was a difference in heads between markets. Just internals, and those are easy enough to swap out.

Actually, yes it is.

You can tell the difference as long as the valve cover hasn’t been changed.

ALL USDM B18C1s have the valve cover without an ‘H’ emblem on the bottom half, and just says ‘Honda Motor Co.’ ALL JDM B18Cs have the Honda ‘H’ emblem on the lower half of the valve cover.

The first picture that you posted from HMO’s site as a “JDM GSR” is not a JDM engine, it is USDM.

Oh, and the variance you see in valve covers between JDM B16A engines is the difference between a first gen ('89-'90) and all other JDM B16A engines '91 and newer.

not to mention… it really doesnt matter if you get a USDM head or a JDMN head since it’s all basically the same thing anyways… its not like you are gonna gain 10-15 more hp because the VC has an “H” on it

ok bringing this back. Ive been wondering if my vc has been changed (prior to me buying the car). The head says pr3 and that its a 92. The motor is a jdm b16a sir(1 or 2 idk). Now I dont care wether or not its a jdm or usdm head Im just trying to figure out what the vc came off of if its not the original one for my motor. Heres acouple pic. Thanks guys
