check your connections to your plugs in the head and the distributor…
i had this problem.
i was driving after just installing a new header… when my car made this noise and i lost noticiabke power. for about 4 days i was stumped tearing my car apart. Finally i backtracked and started checking everything again.
It turned out to be my spark plug wires!. The copper part that connects to the distributor housing came off the wire…( it was not crimped tight enough and slipped off)… causing a jumping spark and my car to run on 3 plugs with one intermittedly.
…moral of the story… check for faulty or defected parts.
Great way to check that,
Start your car, and turn out the lights;)
welll i have spent three long days with no power and this problem that has stumped everyone…
turns out to be the simplest thing in the worldd…
the MSD 8.5mm wires did not completely connect to the spark plugs… they werent long enough. i put the ngk wires back on and i had FULL POWER!
unbelievable…
anyways… thanks for all the ideas, suggestions, help and most of all thanks for the support… nice to have to positive G2 support:rockon:
thanks guys
well beings that you just put a bunch of ignition stuff on there it is probably something to do with that. but when i built my very first ls motor. I did an msd ignition, blaster ss coil, crower cams. high compression. My motor did the same thing. It sounded exactly like a subaru wrx. I did an ls vtec and still sounded like one. I found out it was just the header. I got a new one now and it sounds like a honda.
