Gun enthusiats, need some advice on ar-15

Since I live in Maryland, which is a far left socialist state, our “progressive” governor has pushed forth an assault weapons ban. It is going into place October 1st. I am not familiar with guns but I have always wanted to get started. I have just been pushing it off because of other interests, I feel the time has come where I need to get started. I would like to purchase an ar-15 before the ban happens. I am getting married in September and it has put a damper on most of my funds that would be normally deemed “discretionary”. So with that being said funds are limited at this time and I am forced to act quickly. I have been told that I can purchase a complete lower, have that registered, and later on purchase the rest of the components and assemble the gun.

Is any of this true? If it is do any of you have experience with companies manufacturing parts for the AR-15? Can you point me in the right direction? I have $3-400 to spend on this.

Thanks

Dont even have to buy a complete lower. Get a stripped one and ill help you build it whenever you have a chance to accumulate parts.

Sounds like a date. :stuck_out_tongue:

Yeah, you can probably pick up 2 stripped lowers for what you have now, to build later. Buy magazines while they are still legal.

Sure Shot Firearms in Glen Burnie will transfer for you, and SHOULD be doing 8th-day turnaround even though MSP is deliberately taking extra time (and got caught telling NICS to deny any call-ins on the stuff that’s soon to be banned if it wasn’t MSP calling it in). If they aren’t, call Engage in Rockville cause I know they are.

Also if you’re interested in what all is involved in building an AK, there’s a build party later this month. Put a decimal between the two words in my username, and add @gmail.com to the end. I’ll fill you in on the deets…technically supposed to be a member of mdshooters, but if you’re not I’d be happy to vouch for ya.

Like they said:
Stripped lower or 80percent
Magazine
A case of 223…the price went down right now to like .35 a shot…buy ammo before that gets banned

I was in your shoes 8 months ago. I caught the black rifle disease and now I made 3 rifles and got into reloading too lol

Magazines and rifles are banned 1 october. Focus on that before ammo.

What kind of magazines specifically? I though it was any over 10 round capacity

It is. Go to pa or va and buy whatever you want. they only banned in state sale, purchase or transfer.

Normal capacity, 30 round magazines.

If they only banned in-state transfer, you are good to go. Colorado got it much worse.

CO got shafted like any girl who’s ever been on a casting couch.

Btw, nice Rule #2.
