H&R Springs... Sport or Race

I can get either one for the same price. I dont want to drop it that much and i still want the car to ride around stock. How much of a diffrence is their between the sport and the race springs.

Sounds like you want the sport ones.

For some info go to: http://www.hrsprings.com

I’d go race; eventually you’re gonna say, I want my car lower.

TRUST me.

I’ve got the sports and love the improvement over stock. But, he’s right, I’m thinking about going with the race springs or coilovers next summer.
An advantage of the sports~ I’ve had mine on for about 6 months now and I’m still on stock shocks. I’m not saying that’s the way to go but if you don’t want to have to fork out the dough for aftermarket shocks right away; the sports are a good choice.

I’ve been in cars with race springs. The spring rate is linear which means wear a kidney belt(rough ride)The sport springs have a progressive rate which means the ride will firm up when pushed but will be liveable on those bumpy roads around town.

i have H&R race springs on my DA and i am damn satisfied with it…ride is not bouncy (i have tokico shocks)

I’ve used them both on my car (well, the sports were Neuspeed, almost the same). My opinion is that unless you’re getting koni shocks you shouldn’t get the race springs. I only say this because the rear will have no gap and the front will still have an ugly gap. I have my spring perch on the lowest setting in the front and it’s still not quite even with the rear on the highest perch. The sport springs will leave an uneven gap also, but to me it looked better than my race springs before I adjusted the spring perch. As far as ride quality, I had the sport springs with tokico hp’s and the ride was awesome… very comfy. The race springs with konis don’t ride quite as nice, but still much better than the skunk2’s that they replaced. The race springs definately handle better. ha3ap, the race springs ARE progressively wound and ALSO have progressive springs rates, and there is a difference between the two.

Thanks for the comments. I think i will go with the sport springs for the ride quality and because of the rear wheel gap you get with the race springs. Im getting tokico blue shocks to go with them and was wondering if 17" rims would look better with this setup or should i go with 16" rims

15s an Eibachs baby all the way (haha Eibachs not yet included :)).

Stew

Yo ihave (H&R) sport spings man the ride is smooth, even if you have people in the back you feel that the are not back there, there dope

Get 15’s with your sport springs. 16’s if you must I guess. Make sure not to buy those 16" BFG 40 series euro TA’s. Those look awful. Get some good 45 series tires.

The H&R Sport spring rates for G2s is 340f/186r.

I have them with Tokico HPs, and the car understeers a bit too much. I think that an ideal setup would be 375/400 but that would be stiff. I have the 22mm Progress bar so that elimated all unsteer, but I’m going to get GCs later.

BTW if you put on a 22mm sway bar with H&R Sports, make sure you secure it well (I used Marc’s nut/bolt into the subframe method), b/c the spring rates in the rear may cause a significant amount of strain on the mounts. It’s a lot better than stock though.

contary to what others have said i went race springs then changed my mind and went back to sport springs… sure the race springs will make the car look better and handle better but it just wasn’t driveable anymore… to many scrapes.

I can’t stand cars that ride beat my kidneys into hamburger meat!!!

Sports are fine, sometimes like mango said I wish it was a bit lower, but it's all good when I don't scrape around town and the car rides very good even with 205/40/17 A520s

Plus I'm on Tokicos don't want them to blow out or leak haha
