h4h and h4 headlight bublbs the same?

I just bought a set of jdm headlights yesterday and im waiting on them to come in…what type of bulbs do the fog lights take?..also are h4 and h4h bulbs the same?..lmk!..thanks

not the same…

Main headlights are H4H, and you will either need to splice the existing wire into the H4H bulb, or simply get the harness from PasswordJDM. I got the harness, and it’s completely plug and play. I strongly recomend it…

The foglights are H3 bulbs…As for the corner (I say corner because tehre is only one socket on JDM lights as opposed to two on USDM’s) the corners are still the common 168 wedge bulbs…Just make sure you use the bulb socket that is connected to the turn signals…That is if you want the corners to blink with the flashers

Here’s a link from EBay, in the event the JDM headlights you bought don’t come with the headlight bulbs. If you do a search, you’ll see threads where people have modified H4 bulbs to make them fit, rather than using H4H bulbs. The H4H has a smaller base than the H4 bulbs.

You can also purchase the headlight sockets from Pep Boys or any auto parts store for about $5 each.

what is the reason behind the H4 conversion?

Nothing really except they are cheaper and you can find them in the U.S. without having to order them online. You do have to cut the headlight housing I believe to make them fit.
