half core rad question

I know what it takes to put the civic half core in the g2 but i am just wondering if there are any overheating issues when going to the small rad and will a 2 row rad be good enough?
I also searched, nuttin about overheating with the half core

I have never heard of anyone overheating due to switching to a 1/2 half radiator (Civic). I have seen our Mishimoto Civic radiator on many different applications such as 240sx’s, EVO’s etc without any problems.

Im ive been running a 00 98 spec itr engine for 8 months now and ive never had any heating issues with my rad, but then I do have the dual core rad and did replace the coolant and thermostat just to be safe.

I race my car about 5 times a week for the last 8 months and no heating issues so it works. just make sure you dont half ass the swap and you do a flush and get new thermostat. Its always better to use your original rad since its oem and reliable, there really isnt any need to get a smaller one unless your trying to shave weight and cut space.

well the reason Im changing to half core is cuz my car got hit by a deer 2 weeks ago and now my new rad is leaking so if im going to change it, might as well a half core for the anticipation for turbo

My thinking on the half sized two row is basically it’s performance being compared to the factory size folded in half. It should hold the same amount of coolant. I’ve never heard of anyone having overhaeting issues and it is done alot in g2’s.

well the difference from a full size and a half core is that the full core will give you a more consistent water temp. Its great for street, auto cross and even stop and go traffic. The half core will give you a water temps that rise in a single stop and cool down only in long drives with few stops.
Yes I know I have a half core rad since mine gave out so my bro lend it to me until I can get full Mishimoto rad.

Im running a fluidyne civic half size in my H22 Turbo DA! No overheating at all. Also using the FAL #194 fan, works great.
