Handbrake Clicker Deletion

Anybody do it yet?

I am about to try.

friend has it on his ae86, but on our cars i dont see why. but go for it to each his own

Well I do have the automatic and I enjoy me some quick turn arounds and never deny myself snow\rain fun.

I use it a lot and never for the intended purpose. I figured I might as well make it comfortable. I got my interior all in bits anyways, shouldn’t be too hard.

Anybody want pics?

fair enough. yeah sure curious as to how you went around it

Still about to do it. Will keep you guys posted.

Do you know of a write-up? Any cons to this mod? sounds cool

any cons to this mod… i can think of one. your ebrake will not work for its intended purposes. yea if u park on a slope/hill u can park ur car and set the wheels in the proper direction… but does that seem cool if ur car does slide and smacks into another car, or runs out into the middle of the street, or worst, it rolls on somebody? this guy has an automatic, i dunno if he’ll ever really need the ebrakes on a slope more than whatever degrees, but u cant rely on just the transmission to keep ur car in place. axles brake and come loose sometimes from diff. causes… but if u don’t want that added lil security then by all means go for it, do as u like. but when u do need it one day, u’ll be wishing u hadn’t.

ps. i also don’t see why pushing a lil button is so complicated for some… or that not having the button could make u do quicker J turns that someone with the button.

Instead of eliminating the e-brake lock all together, why not press the button in, get a buddy to hold it there while you drill a small hole threw the handle and teh button, then put a codder pin in there. Leave the pin in for snow/rain fun, then if you have to, pull the pin for parking.

Old Rally car trick.

Great idea. I’ll be considering these.

haha fair enough!

yes, what is the point of this? :umno:
yes, what is the point of this? :umno:
What do you think? :blah:

I have my fun and I need to be able to not have my rear wheels locked when I suddenly let go of the handbrake. That is the point of removing the clicker.

If my car does more than ninety degrees of rotation, I need to have full control of the steering wheel (one hand) and instantly be able to pop the automatic shifter into N (the other hand). The handbrake, meanwhile, needs to not lock my rear wheels.

If this is hard to visualize, instead of snow, imagine wet tarmac. If that isn’t working, think dry pavement.

It is so hard for me to imagine the excitement of popping it from drive to neutral…oh, it’s blowing my mind. LOL, sorry I’m in a sarcastic mood tonight :stuck_out_tongue:

I believe a member on here used to drift his FWD car…and what happened…oh yeah he broke both axles…but you guys have fun with t hat…LOL

Axles take like 2 hours to replace both, if that, and its about 120 bucks for 2 “new” ones from Napa/Autozone/Kragen/Whatever…

Let the guy do what he wants.

that video was wild tho…

They make these caps that go on the button that allows you the choice between the button automatically holding itself or you have to hold it down. I have seen them in person when I lived in japan. Everycar that was set-up for drifting to include many of my friends had them. I have also seen them on the net for sale, but never cared to remember since they are designed for drifting and due to the fact integras are not drift cars it didnt pay it any attention. I am sure you can find it though. Try typing in something along the lines of e-brake drift button or similar into google and see what comes up.

Here ya go. Link to people talking about it and what it does and how it works and picture to go along with it.
