Ok, Im just curious what you guys have your cars set up for as in handling, im more interested in the twisties. camber, toe in, toe out, and sway bar settings. and is there a way other than coil overs to even out weight distrbution, spring stiffness etc.
I guess no one has any???

shocks set on max.
camber in front about -1. should be more than the rears to induce oversteer.
toe slightly in, never out. remember as the camber goes to negative, you get more toe in. as the camber goes to positive (as with a camber kit) the toe goes out (bad).
sway bar settings? thicker in the rear, however i have s/t sways in the front also. i lost the stock fronts and i happen to like it this way.
you want a higher springrate in the rear if youre really serious…
also adjust your tire pressures, its the easiest way to tune. i.e. lower psi in front.

you’re gonna run -2deg of camber with those azenis!! yikes. or are those just gonna be track tires and you’ll have something harder for street?
Mojo, where’d you order that progress bar from? And are the neuspeed races spoken for?? Let me know when they come off. ![]()
I would keep my stockers as daily drivers. They’re just a mismatch of all season 195/60/14’s with a hard 400ish treadwear. BTW, it’s not the -2 degrees of camber that kills you; it’s the 1/8" toe out in combination with it that’ll ruin tires in a hurry.
Progress Bar is being bought used. The Neuspeed races are not spoken for. I haven’t decided when I want to sell them because I want to be able to have a back up suspension and right now I only have a stock rear suspension as a spare.
How long have they been in your car? I’m riding on h&r sports right now. They suck for racing but if you just wanted some backup springs I could send you my sports and a little cash and you could send me the races. We should probably continue this by email but if you’re interested it would really help me out a lot. I just don’t think I can be competitive with the springs I’ve got now.

yeah, bad toe with negative camber is HELL on your tires. i currently have the toe at zero and the front camber at something like -1.25deg. Only took a year for my tires to wear out on the inside. And they aren’t as soft as the azenis. A year isn’t really quick, i know, but still tires are expensive, and i’d rather not go through them that quick. i gotta revamp my suspension so i don’t go through tires so fast…i gotta raise the car a little too.

Well, I bought them used and they had been used for approximately a year previous. Since I bought them I’ve had them for 1.5-2 years. They don’t sag, and they still handle great. Haven’t given me any problems since I installed them.
i forget what does toe out in front get you? other than pure terror lol

Toe out generally provides a better turn in and cornering in low speed situations, at the expense of high speed stability. Since autocross is only low speed, I know exactly why he wants it toed out.
hm what settings would you recommend for a slightly more aggressive street but with good tire wear (i didnt get the camber kit for nothing)
edit; you know what nevermind i think it’d be hard enough to measure out 1/16" albeit something less aggressive than that

I’ll be trying to do my own alignment, and maybe purchase a camber kit before I take it in to have it aligned to those specs.
The following article goes into great detail about how to do an alignment yourself and actually uses plumbbobs, machinist scales, and math to make sure you have a pretty accurate result.
Nothing will replace computers but this is a cheap way to get darn close for less than the price of a four wheel alignment:
