Harbor Freight-"RAPID PUMP 3000 LB. CAPACITY LIGHTWEIGHT ALUMINUM RACING JACK" review

For months and months while working with my car I have been using a lone scizzor jack to jack up my drop teg. After I got the teg up high enough with the scizzor jack I would slip in the bigger wal-mart floor jack which took a good 20 pumps to get it to the height I wanted. After I had done that for all 4 wheels I was exhausted, sweaty, and had wasted a good 20 minutes. :whew:
So for the past few weeks I’ve been crusing the net desperatly in search of a very good quality jack which will:
a) last me a long time
b) fit under the damn car!
c)not take 25-30 pumps to jack up the car! :bang:

My findings led me to harbor freight where I found THIS jack.
Here are the numbers for it:
Minimum saddle height: 3-1/2’’
Maximum saddle height: 17-1/2’’
Hydraulic lift: 14’’
Handle overall length: 47-1/4’’
Two piece knurled aluminum handle prevents slipping
Overall dimensions: 23.62’’ L x 11.81’‘W x 6.1’'H
Tool weight: 35.40 lbs.
As you can see it can go VERY LOW and raise pretty damn high, not to mention it weighs less than 40 lbs and costs only $129.99!
I went ahead with the order which took a good 2 weeks to get here
But the wait was well worth it; as soon as I took it out of the box I knew I had a quality product.
I have been using the jack for a about 3 days now I can say that this is a fine peice of machinary, it lifts fast, maybe not in 5 pumps as the box says but more like 7 to full height, which is fine with me! (may need to adjust it a bit more)
Another great aspect about this jack is that you don’t need to use a little wrench to raise or lower the jack, instead you just twist the handle to the right to tighten it so it will raise and to the left to loosen it so it will drop!
I can honestly recommend this as a jack to buy esp. for lowered cars!
I doubt you will find a better jack for the price.
Some Negatives:
-The directions are a little unclear and can take several readings of diagrams and paragraphs to understand what they are talking about.
-Have to be very very careful and slow when lowering the jack because it will come down FAST if you aren’t careful.
-Only comes with a 90 day warranty I believe, where’s the lifetime warranty :wtf: lol
A few notes if you are considering buying this:
-The handle length is 48" so you will need quite a bit of room to work; however the handle is a 2 part peice and you can use only 1 peice if you desire.
-The jack was low in hydraulic oil when I got it so you might need some to fill it up which was very simple.

That’s it! enjoy that 20 minutes you save each time!

thanks for the review, I was looking at this jack. how low is your car? I haven’t measured mine yet to make sure it will fit.

we have a local harbor Freight, so at least I wouldn’t have to wait for shipping.

My car is dropped aprox. 2 inches; although im not completely sure cause it’s on coilovers and there is still a good amount of room to get the jack under there.
:hugs:

Does anybody have this jack? When I try to jack up the car, the jack handle has a tight resistance. I ain’t no skinny weakling or anthing but I have to use both hands to jack it up.

It had hydraulic fluid in it and I lightly oiled the piston too. Is it suppose to be like that since its capacity is only 3000 pounds?

It is a 6 pump jack it takes a lot of beef to get the car up ( no mechanical advantage that is why the handle is so long.)(20 pumps jack the car comes up easy, less work takes longer)
