when I am stoppeed at a light, I have to jam it into geear…it doesn’t go in eeasy…why?
I’m having the same trouble. I think that my clutch is waaaaay outta adjustment. I’ll adjust it w/ the locknut, and then a few weeks later or so, I’ll have a hard time getting it in gear. So I end up screwing the locknut some more. Doesn’t seem like I should be doing it that often, if at all. I had my clutch replaced about a year and 5 months ago w/ a stock clutch (I know I know, should have gone performance). So I’m starting to wonder if my clutch is really messed up or something.
At some point in the near future, I’m gonna try and adjust the clutch cable by backing it off all the way and tightening it from there. I played w/ the adjusting nut on the pedal itself too a while back. I have to find out the correct specs for that and then start all over.
Seems to be the only thing for me to do right now. And if it turns out I can’t fix/adjust it right, I’m gonna have to take it somewhere to have it checked.
In other words, wait for a few more replies. Maybe someone could shed some light on both our problems.
yeah… max, you should first try adjusting your clutch cable… that would be the quickest and easiest fix.
do you have trouble with any of your other gears? worse at higher rpms?
how old’s your clutch?

Ok, heere’s whausup.
I get a centerforce a long time ago. clutch had the same problem. Adjusted theee cable so the locknut is screeweed all thee way down. Probleem gone.
about a yeear later, I get an enginee reebuild. No problem. Flywheel bolts provide mee a problem; I get someone to tkae my tranny off to fix them, and after they put the tranny back on, the problem camee back. I want to see wheethere it is something simplee that I can fix myself before I bring it back to the shop.
So I presumee itz something that weent wrong with this recent tranny ree and ree.
oh, only does this when I’m STOPPED. if I’m rolling itz no problem.
Same goes for me. Stopped I’ll have problems from time to time. If i’m moving, gear to gear causes no problems at all.
As a temporary messure you could just blip the throttle before you put it in gear. This might work until you get it fixed. As for what the promblem is…sorry dude…me no know.

yup.
no worky.
I had the same problem, but I asked on another message board and they gave me some good advice. Just shift it into second gear then back into first, it should go in smoothly, or you could shift into reverse then to first. I usually shift into second then first.
Try it and see if it works.
yeah the reverse to first works, but is kind of a pain when you’re actually in traffic at a stop sign. i do it when i’m leaving a parking lot sometimes… i used to use that trick back in high school when i worked as a car lot attendent at acura
EVERY gear is hard to get into. You know how if you’re stopped and you wanna go into reverse, normally u go into a forward gear first then into reverse should go smooth? Not me…CRUNCH!
I have the exact same prob and run a centerforce clutch
its all good when i’m rolling but when I stop its hard to get in gear if I take my foot of the clucth then reengage it…
I still dont know whats wrong to this day…
You drove my car before max remember it was hard to put in gear
is that the same deal…
