well i have a db1 teg with a b20/b16vtec swap with tranny and 3 stage clutch.
the problem that im having is that its hard to get it in 1st gear or reverse. i have to have the clutch around halfway to get it into to gear. ive also notice that the clutch cable is kinda tight with no play.
also when the car is off the car goes in gear fine.

Why do you have a stage 3 clutch?
What brand of clutch are you using?
What brand of pressure plate are you using?
If it goes into gear fine with the car off you may have a clutch/pressureplate issue.

When did it the trouble start? Just after installing the clutch, or since you’ve had it?
With what you’ve said I’m leaning toward you’re cable is too tight, loosen the adjustment a few turns and see what it does. The cable should have some play in it.
Mine has about 1/4 of free play at the lever, any tighter and it chatters, then from there it gets into problems like you mention.
yeah the cable and arm has no play at all/very tight. thanks will check when i get home.
