Has any one replaced this?

My cam seal is leaking, how hard is this to replace, it looks pretty straight forward. any thing i should know?

im pretty sure. . .

its straightforward. i had to replace mine too cause it was leaking. i believe you have to take the valve cover off to do it so maybe replace that gasket while your at it since our cars have problems with that too.

integgieLS is right you need to take valve cover off.
BTW, put some hi-temp RTV around the seal to make sure oil will not seep out.

Its a piece of cake.
I did it on my teg.
Make sure your car is cold.
Take the valve cover off, put the sylicone all around the seal in underneath the valve cover and the head.
Put the valve cover back on. and walla.

Anyone know where to get a new cam end plug for cheap? B17a.com used to have STR ones for $35 but I haven’t seen 'em on for a while plus apparenlty the owner is having “business problems”.

don’t forget your plug seals at the same time… i think you can use a cam seal out of a Type-R or a later model GSR but not totally sure… i would call your local Acura dealer… or www.ahmotor.com

HTH

1996 GSR - I have one - works great - no problems.

Do replace the vc gasket and spark plug gaskets. You may want to also replace your distributor ones as well if you wish/need to.

Cool thanks guys ill give it a try later this week.
