Has anybody heard of this

hey has anybody heard of this Carbon Fiber Company called Topshopheadliners i seen some of there parts at shows and i was just wondering here is some of the pics i took

wouldnt that actually be heavier than stock door panels?

No. Carbon fiber weighs like nothing. I mean seriously that would weigh nothing at all.

Though it would probably be louder, and I doubt the accoustics would be all that great w/ the speaker.

I’d say it’s mainly for cosmetics.

carbon fiber is very light, but resin isn’t.

if that piece has some stiffness to it, it won’t weigh nothing. should be lighter than stock though, the stock ones are surprisingly heavy. regardless, it is solely for looks, not weight reduction. if you want weight reduction you don’t use any door panels.

i dunno maybe its just me(has to be just me lol) i mean i know carbon fiber is light and all, but whenever i see the Carbon interior parts i always look at it and think it looks hard, so it must have a weight to it if that makes sense, kinda like that hatch cover that was up here a while back. still it just is weird i guess, cause i mean my door panels(RS power nuttin) only weighed maybe 5 or 6 pounds when i took them off a while back

I worked for a fibreglass manufacturer for 3 years, part of my job included work with carbon fibre and graphite. If a manufacturer has any skill, the amount of resin they use will be comparible in weight to the fibreglass material used (most people don’t do open lamination anymore). A properly manufactured panel like the door one shown could weigh less than 2 lbs but withstand forces greater than a similar weight of steel. The strength/hardness comes from the fibres, think of it like rebar in cement columns.

heard of them and talked to a guy about some parts over honda-tech a long time ago. the company is called Topshop Interiors from what i know. they don’t make much for our cars unless they just started. as of then there were only headliners for cars w/a sunroof and that was it.
