My hatch doesn’t stay up when i open it.
Will replacing the hatch struts fix this problem?
And I have ugly big holes from an old spoiler that used to be on the car, if i get a trunk lid, is it easy to put the glass on? or should i just get a new/used hatch all in all.
Usually replacing the hatch struts is a good starting point, since this is basically all that hold up the hatch. They are super easy to replace and can be found at pretty much all parts stores.
The best thing to do is have a glass company just switch the glass for you. When one of my frirends went to a carbon hatch they just swapped over the glass and I think it was around a hundred bucks or so. Hope this helps.

How much do you love your car? I’m asking because you wanna buy the OEM struts. They’re charged properly when lifting and closing. I had bad experiences with aftermarket ones. Most of them are hard to push down to close. But if you don’t care about that then go ahead and buy the aftermarket ones.
You can get them off of the online “dealerships” or at your local Acura dealer I would assume. I personally just went with the OE replacement ones from AutoZone, which work for me like factory ones.
cool thanks im stopping by the dealership tomorrow to pick up my p/w relay. ill grab a pair of struts if they carry em. if not ill try the autozone ones. thnx
Warning: OEM struts are like $120.00. Its up to you. Vs autozone are like 20 30 bucks? The other guy who posted said they work like OEM. So there.
For me I had a napa brand= Hard to push down. Then went to a kragen= couldn’t hold up due to aftermarket spoiler. I didn’t do autozone. I said hell, I’ll buy the originals from the dealer. (OEM). Fits like a glove. I plan on keeping the car forever.
just make sure you get those things on. Mine were bad and my hatch fell on my face when I was trying to work on it. trust me, that hurt like a mofo and the edges are sharp, it cut my nose.
damn that sounds painful. i jus replaced mine yesterday. bought a set from autozone. works fine so far. oem is always better but will get oems n a a few weeks. $ is a lil low.
I have had my Autozone struts for around 2 years now and they are just like the day i got them they smooth for the most part. I’m not knocking oem because i swear by it but for something like trunk struts i would rather pay 25.00 as opposed to 120.00:rockon:
