how do i get the hatch off. the only bolts i found were super out of reach. im lost?
u need to get more or “better” tools. its only held on by the hinge up top. just gotta take those bolts off, and also remove the hatch struts. oh and be careful with the wires that up there too.
i saw the wires you were talkin about they are already cut lol. what are they for
Those wires are for the 3rd brake light either in the wing (GS-R) or in the hatch window (all other models).
Might wanna look into hooking those back up since it’s now Illegal in most places to not have one. especially since the car came with one, it’s like having a taillight bulb out, just another reason to get pulled over.
They should also be for the rear defroster… And rear wiper.
o ok gotcha i guess i could have put a lil more thought into that but i guess i better get that light hooked up. and i dont have a wiper… jdm delete lol
lol. yea the delete plug is a good idea if u don’t think u’ll need rear wipers. if you’re gonna do that tho, u might as well check to see if the wiper motor is still in there, cuz if it is take it out.
but did u get it out yet?
na imma have to get a curved wrench i think. i coulnt get mine in there.
ever think of using a ratchet with a socket and extension???
i was hoping thats what he’d get from me saying “u need to get more or “better” tools.”
extensions and universal swivels work wonders for tight hard to reach spaces. ratcheting wrenches too.

:ohyeah:
i love mine, they are a godsend
^^
hahaha ok gotcha i figured out that it went up further with the lil shocks off. i feel retarted now ha
lol. u were suppose to take those off first… cuz to take off the hatch hinges first would make taking the struts off a bit more complicated. not impossible but more difficult.
Also, make sure you have a buddy to hold it up, cause the hatch is deceptively heavy
i dont know if this is what you guys are talking about but to make your life easier were the hatch and interior connect, pull off that rubber molding (the color of your interior, connected to the ceiling, and now pull down gently on the ceiling so you see the hinges, you dont have to get at it where its all impossible between the roof and glass. sorry i cant really explain it. lol
basically he’s trying to say take it off from the other end of the hinges. and fyi its not a ceiling its a headliner.
can be done the other way if u just use the proper tools for the job.
