Hatch replacement problem

Wats up people! i wanted to replace my hatch on my baby! some asshole dropped a wood beam on it and popped my wind and dented my hatch! a few days ago i picked up a white hatch from a dude in castro valley for 50 bucks! i thought everything would turn out ok! but when i tried to close it after i was done wiring everything, i noticed the gaps on each side were considerably different. i wonder if it has anything to do with the way i put in the hatch or if it has to do with a dent on the side. please list anything that could lead me to a solution!

screw the rubber tops all the way in. one on each side of the hatch.

then from the looks of it, loosen (do not remove) the two 12mm nuts on the left side (driver side) of the hatch hindges.
open the hatch, and twist the hatch to move more toward the left.

the holes that are used to mount the hatch to the chassis are not perfect, and give room for adjustment. and also the silicone that was there prior used on your original hatch may be in the way aswell incase the adjustment needed is more.

after you get the ends gap about the same, you can tighten the nuts and double check.
