ok my fan wont turn on. when i check the leads both pos. and neg. have fire going to them. and for sumt reason the fan will turn on when the car is off? its a 91 integra, ive check the lines and nothing is being bypass nor unplugged.
So are we talking about the rad fan, condensor fan or maybe blower?
I am going to guess rad fan, as it can come on when ign. switch is off, [engine oil temp. high] controled by “Rad Fan Control Module” also both the power and ground leads to fan motor would test as 12V+, [“fire going to them”] if still plugged into fan and the fan relay was not supplying the ground.
The first thing I would check is the ECTS, [engine coolant temperature switch] it should close, when engine coolant temperature hits about 194 degrees F, and supply a ground to the rad fan relays coil to energize it so the relay can supply a ground to the rad fan.
Unplug the ECTS and use a piece of wire to jump the black and yellow/green leads together, ign. switch must be on or engine running, if fan turns on, replace the ECTS. 94
