Is this possibly a tell tale sign that the head gasket might be going bad? This is a coolant line that goes from the head to the throttle body. There is no coolant when I pull the dip stick and there is no oil in the coolant reservoir. I have done a compression check and number 2 and 3 cylinders are 10 psi lower than 1 and 4. Any ideas?
i would say no…
No, looks like corrosion. What are the numbers from the compression check?
Cylinder No. 1 & 4 (175-8 psi) Cylinder No. 2 & 3 (165 psi)
When I put my finger on it, it is oil
it’s not definitive that a head gasket breach will cause low compression. however, if you had oil pushing past a secure screw clamp at your iacv line, i would absolutely think that contamination would be much more apparent
