I burnt a valve in my stock head “B18A” 92G2. So I found a good deal on a 96 B18B head which had new valves seals etc. Had the head put on, now the car has NO power “like theres now top end power” and very very loud ticking. Also the intake sound is alot louder then it was “the sound of it sucking air”… Also the cars idle is around 1300 rpm… maybe rockers, valve adjustment? I dont know… Any advice would be great.
its running rite? the ticking should be coming from your valves… but that all i know unless u give more info…
It runs smooth… just no power and ticking really LOUD!
if your valves are realy loss u will get less power. the first thing u do is ajust the valves and timing before u start it. where is your dis timming set at? u sure your cam timming is right?
sound like you need a valve adjustment to me.
I did the valve adjustment today… Intake .004’ and Exhaust .007’ the noise is still there and just as loud but I did get some power back… Also I found that the car was out of time a tooth and I fix that aswell… Need less to say that guy wont be working on my car anymore… Anymore advice on the ticking noise? Remember this is a reman head… New valves, Seals, etc… Is it possible he put the cams backwards? The exhuast where the intake cam should go?
