header and bulbs

Ok, I am thinking about buying a stainless steel header but my buddy had one on his civic and it turned purplish. I was wondering what I could do to avoid that because it looked like crap. Also I am buying a set of Ion Blue light bulbs but I am not the smartest guy when it comes to eletrical stuff so what size bulbs do we take up front- headlight? If it is needed- 1990 GS 2dr 5speed

headlight bulbs are 9004

umm you can’t really do anything bout the header turning that color, all stainless steel headers do that after heating up and breaking in. if you don’t want your header turning that color, just get ceramic coated.

also, stay away from the ion blue headlight bulbs, they don’t shine that well at all. actually the output is worse than stock. blue light blends into the road more, so its harder to see, especially in the rain. not only that but cops will hassle you alot.

true about those bulbs, blue is one of the least visible lights on the color spectrum i think.i have xenon’s and w/out the fogs i wouldn’t see anything in the rain.

the ss header will burn and turn that purplish the only thing that can be done is to wipe is down all the time but if there are fingerprints or grease or anything for that matter it wil color unevenly and look ugly
