Was wondering how I could get some paint off of the jdm 1 pieces? There’s some paint on mine and I want to restore them.
Was also wondering how to take the pink in the white out of the 90/91 tail lights? To make it just white and red.
Not sure about the headlight situation, but I know in the teg tips you can find out how to get rid of the pink lines. I did it, looks awesome.
I’ve always wet sanded with fine grit sand paper to get over spray off.
works well IMO without messing it up.
hey i didnt know i could do it this way but i poured bleach into the and the turned white you jus have to let it sit over nite and move it around till you get the wole thinged covered up
I went from that.
To that using bleach and hot water swishing around for about 15 minutes and drying overnight, installed the next morning. There was still a little moisture as you can see but it went away after a few hours.
I wouldn’t leave it in over night, I left it in one side for 20min and it turned the lines almost yellow. I thought it looked strange, and when I did the other light by only leaving it in for like 5min…Perfect white. Looks awkward now…to me at least.

For the overspray; I usually wet sand with some 1500 or 2000 sand paper, depending on how bad your headlights are, then polish them with rubbing compound and a buffer or else youll be there all day by hand, after that hit it with a swirl mark remover just to remove any swirls to look extra clean.

super mines didn’t turn yellow just white exactly how you pics describe it but if it worked for you in 15 min wish i shouldove done that would have savedme a whole lot of time
ill try and post some pcs of mine so i can show you but i just got this new mack book and its kinda confusing
Yeah I just used the shower to do it lol. Rinsed them, then added bleach in all the bulb holes. Let it sit for about 5 minutes, rinsed, added bleach and hot water and swished the light around periodically adding more bleach and water and then finally giving the light a really good rinse to get all the bleach out. Then I let it sit outside the rest of day all the way till the next morning.
This car is 21 years old (it’s a 91 i was born the same year haha) and after doing this I noticed that they were brighter, not only does it get rid of the pink lines but it really cleans out the lights which was awesome.
Thanks I’ll try this.
ProMcCown… when you add bleach into the headlights and then swish it around with hot water, about how much bleach did you add??
Oh and thanks for the pics, hope mine turn out as good.

Can’t really give you an exact amount, I just poured a little into each bulb hole, I’d say a little more then a cap full. When you swish it, it helps to periodically rinse and add more bleach. Every time I rinsed I could see the lines getting whiter, and when they were at the point you see in the picture that’s when I stopped adding bleach and rinsed it thoroughly to get all the bleach out and it was ready to dry.
Ok thanks that helps out a lot. I would of put a lot more in that’s why I asked but now I know, and if my results don’t turn out the same then I’ll just continue repeating until satisfied.
