Headlight Problem

So here is my problem. My 92 4 door teg, which I just bought in April had a burnt left headlight, so I felt the need to put some 8000w HID lights in. The one on the right works beautifully, but the one on the left was flickering dimly. So I moved some of the pins in the connector, thinking they wernt touching fully. The flickering disappeared, but then the hi-beam bulb stayed constantly on, without the low beam being on. I ran a separate ground wire, thinking it was somehow grounding out, but it didn’t make a difference. I swapped the ballast and light to the right side, and they work perfectly. Finally, I put a multi-meter into the ground on the plug coming from my car, and it jumped from between 260v and 320v (yes, i realize what I just said, yes I realize that is impossible, and yes, the multi-meter was on the right setting).

Anyone have any ideas why this is happning, or what I can do to fix this? Having one headlight sucks!

Cheers!
