Headlight sockets keep getting fried

Just wondering what aftermarket bulbs do some of u teg owners use? Or leave it stock?
I use these eurolite xenon fusion bulbs 9004 12 v 64/45w and it keeps burning my sockets (pigtails). One headlight would work also brighter than the other. I replaced them with universal sockets and same thing happens. I was wondering if n e body knows what’s causing this and if u could please help me out, and what aftermarket bulbs would be good to use besides these ones or should I get a heavy duty headlight wire harness?

N E One???

I’d stay away from Eurolites. In fact, I’d stay away from HID-wannabe headlights…unless the car is going on display. If you want more power, just stick with Motomaster 9004HO High-Output bulbs or the Phillips equivalent (available at Wal-Mart). Other than that, you’re other choice would be to convert to JDM 1pc. and use the H4/H4H bulbs or true HID.

As for your harness problems, you might want to check the current flowing through the wires using a Multimeter. You might have to replace a relay or wire…not exactly sure.

Thanx for the reply…

How much are relay’s? and are those like the oem bulbs that are from walmart and canadian tire, just like a normal yellowish color or are they the white ones?

WHen I installed my aftermarket headlights which were 100/80W I also installed an aftermarket headlight harness that used better sockets and heavier wires. Just look up heavy duty 9004 wiring harness on the net and you can find what you need.
