I was wondering if it is okay to use female spade connectors to wire your headlights instead of the wiring harnesses? I ask because I switch back and forth between a set of JDM one pieces for the summer and USDM 3 pieces with 9007 bulbs for the winter. It would make things much easier if I could just plug the bulbs in with female spade connectors instead of having to deal with switching the harnesses everytime I switch the headlights. I figure it should be okay since all a harness is anyway is plastic holder for some female spade connectors. But I wanted to double check before I did this since I don’t know too much about electrical stuff. So what do you think, will it be okay?
Yes you could use them, but why not just hard wire, [solder and shrink tube] something like a trailer plug… http://shop.easternmarine.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=catalog.prodInfo&productID=4986&categoryID=209 to the lights, and… http://shop.easternmarine.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=catalog.prodInfo&productID=4987&categoryID=209 to the car and make it plug and play, you would not have to worry about miswiring/plugging as the trailer plugs can only be plugged in one way.:idea:94
