HeadUnit Help

Im Debating on Which headunit I should purchase for my car these are my top 3 choices…I dont Which is better.

Pioneer DEH-P9800BT

Kenwood Excelon KDC-X990
or

or

sony cdxm9905x

I like Pioneer products for sound, but that deck right there doesn’t look as good as the other 2 choices.

How’s the price difference on those?

they are all about the same price…maybe a 20 dollar or more difference here and there

kenwood has the best pre-outs of the three

I vote Pioneer. I had my 4100 for 5 years now and I just bought a 6700 for the accord. Kenwood is good too but stay away from Sony. Are you worrying about an ipod hook up at all?

yeah i would like the ipod hookup and the pioneer also has bluetooth which is cool. so i guess pioneer sounds like a winner… whats wrong with sony’s? bad sound?

Go with Alpine…the CDA-9851 is a fantastic reciever.

Let me see about this new pioneer…

But for right now my advice is to get an older pioneer 8600. Imho this is still the best well rounded unit on the market. This unit is years old and still better. Why would they go from a full color screen back down to just blue?! There are more steps in the crossover other than the current 80, x, x(I forget). Auto eq, time alignment, etc… And its just easy to use and looks nice.

Also google “pioneer oel” there should be a site oel.downloads.uk or sumthin. Look at all the movies and backgrounds you can download there and if you don’t like them, make your own.

I have a 8600 and got mines for a steal of a price.

Ok… After a quick research(not fine) I think this is not worth it. Get the 8600. The improvements are: 1 volt higher preouts…wow. Bluetooth so you can control your phone while you are driving/control ur media player…would this be a big benifit to you? I think its not that great. Tachometer meters and stuff…um are you going to be looking down at the screen for rpm while driving?

The actual screen looks to be better quality but the images you can make are the same as the 8600. There are different versions of “pc link”. The pc link this new one uses is the same pc link used for the 8600…go figure.

I saw on crutchfield $500+ don’t waste ur money.
