My heat and ac controls are on the skids!! I can’t get the heat to turn off.When I turn the knob to the cold position it has no effect.The ac doesn’t work,but I don’t need anymore hot air ! Has anyone ever had this problem before?

Close the vent and press the button all the way to the to the right 2nd to last, the recirculation button.
The controls on the right will not change.It does’nt matter how hard I press them.Could the entire system be screwed up?
I doubt the whole system is messed up, probably the box with the switches. My buttons are kinda messed up too, but if I keep pressing and smashing it in there while moving it left and right it’ll eventually close you can hear the vent close (if the air is on). Or you can just point the vents out the window and leave the window rolled down.
the cold/hot switch is cable operated. Look under your dash below the radio and you’ll see a control arm with a cable attached, swing that to the opposite side and voila no more hot air.
Do I need to take the radio out to get to it?
to repair it with a new one yes. To manually switch it over no. Fromm the passenger seat looks under the dash to the right of center console and you’ll see it. Just move it to the opposite side, if you need i will try to take pics.
