So this morning setting 1 and 2 doesn’t put out heat. But 3 and 4 work fine. What can I do to fix this? thanks.
I’m assuming you mean the blower switch???
there are multiple recent threads talking about this, your blower motor resistor is bad, either go hunting at the local junkyard or order a new one from acura.
Is there a teg tip on this? I checked and doesn’t seem to be there.
Ziggy- how do I go about replacing this.
It’s quite simple actually:
You start by removing the glovebox, (4) phillips screws (the bottem ones have plastic covers over them that just push out the tops hold on the metal loop for the latch) top and bottom of the inside
you will pull the glovebox out and there will be a wire to disconnect from the back of it
at this point you will be looking down on the top of the blower motor housing, there will be a plug with 4 wires coming out of it, disconnect that.
the piece it was connected to is your blower motor resistor, it’s held down by (2) phillips screws, remove the screws and pull it out.
Now reverse procedure with new resistor, and your DONE!
Hey thanks man. I’m a junk yard kinda guy. I’m going to pass on going there for now. Anything electronic, I go to the dealer. Is it like 30 to 40 bucks? Correct me if I’m wrong.
ziggy. The guy couple of post down wrote up how to remove the “blower motor resitor” Yours and his are different. Which one is correct?

Honestly he’s doing waaaaaayyyyyy to much work, I’ve had mine in and out on more than one car!!! he was removing the whole housing to get to it
NOT NECESSARY!!!
Just remove the screws to removed the glovebox and you’d see everything right there. I promise. I’ll see about scanning in the pages out of the service manual for you tonight if you don’t believe me.
Marc
yo i got the same problem/
I’m going with you on this. I want to do the easy way which is yours. What service manual do you have. I have the haynes. Is it in there? Can you post it up when you get the chance?
I’m going to hit this problem on the weekend.
I have that one, but I also go my hands on an Acura Factory Service manual
I was off, there are actually 6 screws but all you have to do is remove the glovebox not the lower dash.
once i get my scanner up and running, or tomorrow i’ll grab my digital camera out of the car and take a pic of the illustration in the manual for you.
two screws hold the metal lock ring to the top of the inside of the glovebox
two are in the bottom of the glovebox covered by plastic plugs
and two are on the left and right sides of the inside face of the glovebox (visible with the glovebox door open)
Well, your right it is the Blower motor resistor. I took off the old one and saw that the spring/coils were burnt. I think that could have been repaired by soldering it. But I already had the new one on my hands from the dealer which was like 40 bucks. Oh well. Slapped it on, now it works!
Man this site helps alot. Thanks Ziggy
No prob man! can’t tell you how much info I’ve gained/learned from this site! We gotta stick together to keep this info alive!
