Hello all!

Just introducing myself, my name’s Korey I’m going to buying another Gen. 2 Integra and I wanted to go ahead and get to know some of you guys on the forum here. I also need to know what I need to look for when buying another Gen. 2, common rust spots, things to look out for and stay away from and also if you guys have any that’re for sale. I’m parting out my 6th gen. celica, so wants that’s done I’ll be buying my Gen. 2 Integra just doing research on them before hand.

About me, I run a storage facility with my wife that’s located on Fm 2920 that also doubles as a USPS post office, so if you’re in the tomball area and you need storage or to ship something, let me know.

Want to know anything else, just ask.

welcome korey! cool your getting a g2, you’ll love them if you’ve never had one before. but again, good having you part of the forum as there isn’t many g2 owners out there as there used to be. so it’s nice haha

Welcome aboard!

Welcome to G2IC probably the best community of DA/DB owners around, definitely plenty of info and help on here if needed. G2’s have something special about them forsure. Enjoy the site.

Thanks for all the greetings and whatnots. This won’t be my first G2 I had one shortly before my celica but I only had it about 2 months before someone drove in front of me on 249 out here in tomball and totaled it. It was a white 90’ Integra with a beat up b16 in it, that’s when I fell in love with the car. And I can’t wait till this part out on my celica gets under way because that’s what’ll be fueling my integra budget before income tax.

Welcome! My only suggestions are to focus on the interior and the paint. If you get a good clean car with really good condition original paint and good condition interior you can easily fix/replace everything else. Body/work and upholstery is expensive though so for me those are the most important things to look for when buying an older Integra.

Okay I didn’t know if there were any parts I needed to make sure were there because you can’t get them anymore, like with the celica you need to check the wiring over and make sure it hasn’t been fiddled with because it’s next to impossible to just patch the harness in that generation you have to pull everything out and start all over and you also have to look and see what it was from the factory because some of the 6th gen celica’s came with an upgraded stereo with low, mids, and highs in the doors. And I wasn’t sure if Honda/Acura did anything different between the different models and years of integras. Also is there a particular motor I should look for in the integra because I know with the celicas you don’t want the wimpy 1.8 7afe, you want the torque’y 2.2 5sfe or if your lucky to find an already swapped one you want the 3gste or a 3gse to make a 3gste.

Couple of the issues our cars have is the intermittent control unit located behind the fuse box likes to go out and the windshield leaks around the wiper cowl. You can find do it yourself ideas in the proper section on here. Fairly simple cars.

Don’t worry so much about the engine, they all came with the same b18a. However almost every DA I see for sale now has either a b18b or b20 that has been swapped in. Personally I’d prefer the original engine to be in the car and well maintained because it shows that the car was well cared for. But personally I wouldn’t base my decision on the engine alone, but that’s because if it were me I’d likely replace the engine down the line anyway.
