Hello Everyone New db2 owner here

Panda lol jk :lol::lol::lol:

Extra layers of paint weigh too much. Must. Go. Faster. :lol:

My 00 integra is also a one owner car with original paint, unfortunately i decided to tamper with the car and put 5 lug setup with wheels as well as a JDM ITR transplant… lets just say i wish my car was completely stock today… would have saved me a lot of trouble and i could have just built something on the side…

in 20 years there will be less DB2s, specially nice original matching number examples… I also own a one owner 89 560sl with a folder about 2 inches thick full of history records, window sticker and all maintenance records… it may not be worth a whole lot today but the value will go up.

also under my belt would be a 67 230sl, 69 280sl, 67 300se cabriolet, 66 600 swb and a few other beaters…

a car can only be original once.
I once owned a '69 SS Camaro. Purchased from the original owner. Every time I considered mods my “car guy” friends would freak out. Meanwhile, a buddy of mine bought a '68 Camaro convertible that had a six and some kind of Powerglide (?) abomination. I envied him. He ripped out the six and dropped in a big block (the thunder of Thor) and some kind of rock-crusher tranny… Ultimately , he built a car that was far superior to my “factory original” SS. True, whomever has that SS these days is ahead financially, but I’d still rather be behind the wheel of that ragtop.

I am now the original owner of my '90 LS. In twenty years no one is likely to ask if the numbers match. I like that.
I personally like the way DA/DBs look with a 5 lug setup, and the wheel offsets are pretty nice on 5 lug wheels. a 25 offset is too aggressive for my taste, i would prefer a 32 offset as it looks nice.

BTW your car looks nice…

i tried fitting some 949 6UL’s and i like the way they fit…
You don’t have to go 5 lug, there is a 4x100 version of the SL, but the offset really isn’t ideal. IMO it’s too aggressive for a DA. I have them on my car and it looks OK but I wish they were a little less aggressive. But for me I don’t care as much about looks because they are some of the lightest & strongest 15x8 wheels you can get and that’s why I bought 'em (car is built for track days).

Here’s what the 15x8 +25 4x100 SL’s look like. Looks pretty good from the side but straight on front or rear you can see how aggressive the fitment is.

If you’re gonna keep the car stockish and try to stay true to the original shape and era of the car then I think the SL is a bad choice regardless. Regular TE’s make sense, or some other older wheels.
Very nice car. Congrats and welcome.

Nice find. How many miles?
