OK IVE CHECKED THE OTHER POSTS ABOUT IDLE PROBLEMS BUT I CANT FIND MY PROBLEM. HERE IT IS.WHEN IT STARTED WHEN MY CAR WOULD WARM UP IT WOULD IDLE SO LOW IT WOULD STALL OUT. I HAD TO ADJUST THE IDLE JUST TO KEEP MY CAR RUNNING. NOW MY IDLE BOUNCES FROM ABOUT 250 RPMS TO ABOUT 1250 1500 RPMS. IT IS ALSO CAUSING AN INSANE POWER LOSS. IF IT HELPS I HAVE A 93 LS MANUAL. PLEASE HELP I NEED MY POWER BACK… THANKS
sorry…this is totally off topic…but i see you are from CT…where?
hit me up w/ an IM if you want…Wolfpac268
hm…go to your local parts store and get an O2 sensor…hm…93 may be more expensive.
Thatz all I can think of.
Does your engine light come on?
If it does you can read your ecu and see what code it punches out.
theres no check engine light… o2 is all you can think of? ill have to try that… everyone i ask has a different answer. looks like im gunna br replacin maaaad sensors. :argh:
craig im from stratford.
Does your car idle correctly before it fully warms up? It only idles low after it warms up, right?
To check the O2 sensor, just unplug it. The “check engine” light will come on, but the idle problem will go away if the sensor is at fault.
Also make sure the spark plugs are all torqued in correctly and are dry(oil and water); check the cap and rotor; check the spark plug wire(resistance).
Have you performed any service to the car recently that may have caused the problem?
ive replaced the plugs wires car and rotor, thats done nothing. nothing recent done to bring it on, its been like this for a little while. when i start it up when its cold it idles at like 1750 rpms till it warms up then it drops and starts idleing low and bouncin. ill have to try unpluggin the o2 sensor like you said. any other ideas please let me know any help id appreciated.
oops sorry about the typo thats suppost to say cap and rotor
