do you hear your fuel pump prime? when you crank, does the tachometer jump? surprisingly i had the same problem a month ago and it turns out to be my battery. the positive post was dirty. cleaned it up, tighten it very well, n it starts. might wanna check your grounds too.
First you want to check if your getting spark.pulll out a sparkplug cable and ground it to one of the valve cover nuts and crank the engine…while cranking u should see a spark… If u see it then that eliminates one of the easy parts… Second easiest is to hear the fuel pump priming or cycling as you can say when you turn the key. You sould hear about 2 clicks coming from under your dash which is the main fuel relay (make sure you have enough fuel in the car and its not a empty tank lol) its happened to people …and if you have a voltmeter around you will want to check your battery voltage a goood battery will have 12.6volts … Start from there and get back to us
Yup i agree with this guy also check the main fuel relay since these relay go bad so check it out

HAHA YEA B20 IS JUS FOR BUYING STUFF…I GET ON HERE FOR PROBLEMS AND DIYS AND DA PICS
WHERE IS THE MAIN FUEL RELAY?! HELPP im in lb right now in front of my car trying to fix it!
and what am i suppose to check on the main fuel relay. i dont hear the 2 clicks you are talking about. and i filled my car up with 15 bucks of gas the night i drove it to my cousins house.
so im leaving her another night in long beach so tomorrow im just gonna try and pull a main fuel relay at a junk tomorrow to see if its that. i was just wondering if the main fuel relay was a little above the fuse box on the left.
#18
remove knee panel. you’ll see a screw holding #15 and #18 together with #18 behind #15. replace with a known good working one to check.
Dont beat yourself up too bad because if you cant get it running then what makes you think theives are going to work on a car to get it started.
what he said is all u really need to know
so im just gonna go to the junkyard and pull out as many as i can. haha and see if it work. i hope it is cause i dont wanna buy a new §§§§§ or anything thats hella expensive. pray for meeeeeeeeee!
DUDE YOU HAVE TO TAKE OFF THE PLASTIC COVER UNDER THE STEERING WHEEL TO SEE IT…UR SUPPPOSE TO HEAR THE 2 CLICKS WHEN YOUR TURN THE KEY TO II…THIS WILL HELP ALOT http://techauto.tripod.com/mainrelay.htm GO TO THE TAB THAT SAYS REPLACE AND IT WILL SHOW U THE LOCATION…
thanks guys it was the main relay. and i was just wondering why it still has like a second or two delay
thanks guys it was the main relay. and i was just wondering why it still has like a second or two delay
What do you mean, " it still has like a second or two delay"??? 94
like itll crank for like a second or two then it will start. do you think i messed up my starter from trying to start it so many times before i switched the relay?
No u didnt mess up anything …that is normal… The car isnt going to start the second u turn the key… It has to crank thenn startt…
but now when the engine is cold it starts up at like 2000rpm until its like warm? and when i go into neutral when im preparing to stop its at like 1500rpm until im completely at a stop itll go down and sometimes it jumps.
high rpm is normal for a cold engine when it gets warm it shud idle around 700 to 800rpm…thats normal tooo its the brake light its a load on the battery and cluster which causes the needle to do that
how much did u pay for this car…for the record try not to buy cars with rebuilt engines
