I searched and read several threads on this issue but nobody really has my exact problem… my driver side shoulder belt is stuck forward. when i open the door it makes the fast beep noise like when it is held up on something. which means that it wants to keep going forward… i manually moved the belt back and it worked for 1 driving session and as soon as i got out it started acting up again. i went to my local Acura dealership and they gave me all this BS about how its only belts and buckles that are warrantied for life. so i called acura corporate headquarters and they said that the seatbelt systems are warrantied for life. i dont know what to do, i dont exactly want to pay acura $95/hour to figure out that it is something unrelated to the seatbelt mechanism and not have it be covered under warranty. any ideas on what may be wrong? Please help, i want to have this issue resolved asap. Thanks
The warranty book says the warranty covers “any Acura seatbelt assembly”. I can send you a scan of the page of the warranty book if you want. Go to the dealer and tell them that they are wrong, and you could try to get the name of someone at Acura corporate that you can demand that they call, and that person will tell them to fix it.
Okay it may be short in the wire mine did that and I could not get it to move at all and when the car was on the damn thing kept beeping. So I know there is nothing scientifical about what I am going to say next. Open your drivers side door and grab hold of the wires that run from the door into the car and give the a brief shake or pull not to hard though. and then shut you door. It worked for me.
seriouslly take it back to them, what do they call that mechanism that holds the seat belt, a track or a seat belt track either way it is a seat belt item , safty issue , tell them your going to go out and pile drive into there acura sign and sue them for your injuries caues they wouldnt fix your seat belt , then you can buy a new acura, lol
Ya they are right. Our seat belts were recalled for safety reasons so if anything goes wrong on any part of it by law they must fix it. You can print a tsb out and show them and make them fix the rest of the stuff for free just to upset them if ya like. There are a lot of tsb’s on our car so it would keep them busy for a while
Is there any way to find what TSBs have been issued and which ones have been fixed on a particular car?
Technical Service Bulletin (TSB)
Definition: A bulletin issued to an auto dealer by the manufacturer detailing a fix for a known concern. The bulletin is for informational purposes only. It is not a recall. The dealer is under no obligation to make the repair or notify customers. TSB’s are intended to assist dealers in ongoing repairs.
