I have a '92 Integra GS-R, Aztec Green Pearl, and the interior needs a little TLC. There’s a small hole worn into the driver’s side seat, the cushion is depressed in the front, and well, it’s 1992 interior… I stopped by a reupholstery place, and the guy quoted $800 to do both seats.
As much as I like the stock seats, should I replace them, repair them, cover them? I have some $ to spend but that quote was a bit too rich for me.
Also, are newer GS-R, ITR seats able to mount into the car?
Thanks for the replies / interest. Recaro is nice. I’ll look into them.
And I’ve been reading more about it, and it seems like only 90-93 seats fit the car without modification.
A QUICK UPDATE:
After stopping by another upholstery shop, the guy said, “It’s almost a classic with original interior. You should try and find that seat, or even the passenger seat (same cushions, fabric), and we can recondition your original.”
I’ll check out Craigslist and the forums…
BTW: for anyone else interested, I stopped by an Acura dealership, and they can no longer get the cushions or fabric.
I put rsx cloth seats into mine i love the look plus i got them for 100 bucks couldnt beat that price… The only thing thats a minus is i had to modify them to get them fitted. Well worth it in my opinion.
I have been tossing around various ideas similar to what you describe, and scouring CL in my area in case some seats with similar fabric pop up. Keep us updated on what you decide!
