Since I bought my 92 teg in November Ive had this gap between the left side of my front bumper and fender. The Right side lines up great and the rest of the bumper does as well. All the holes are in the right places… HELP!!!
I’ve got the same problem so i anybody knows how to fix itplease reply.
looks like one of those aftermarket “OEM Replica” bumpers. those things always fit like shit. also, the bolts behind the bumper lense can be adjusted, loosen them and lift up on the bumper before tightening (a friend who can give a hand is a good help here)
and the two screws in the fender-well, the plastic piece that you screw into is flimsy and is prone to breaking the clips that hold it in place, causing the sagging on that side that you are having (especially if the car has ever been in any form of frontal collision even a very small one just enough force to break any clips that hold it in place will pretty much make it unfixable, without buying the piece from a dealer.
take the bumper off, and see if that little plastic mounting bracket has slack/play in it, if it does, that is your problem. buy it new from a dealer, or here:
and if that front bumper is an aftermarket piece (i know its not aftermarket like “bodykit aftermarket” but if its not directly made by honda/acura, its an aftermarket oem replica bumper and won’t fit right, and won’t look right either) you might want to consider replacing that as well. get a new genuine OEM bumper cover and you’re set.
it is an oem replica bumper… the clips that your talking about, the top one pops in and out. Ill go to acura for that tomorrow. I tried adjusting the bumper support and bump stops behind it and that didnt work… Even if I hold the bumper up from the side it still desnt line up the way its suppose to. Maybe I need a new bumper from acura like ur saying but Id hate to waste money on something that I dont know will be the fix or not. Ill start at the clips. Try looking at this post in a couple days if you can to see where I made it, Ill post. Thanks for your help
yeah, definately go through all other options first, before buying a proper bumper. those things can get rather pricey, unless you find a decent used one on here for sale. brand new, you’re lookin at some serious money. replace the clip piece that we’ve discussed and that SHOULD correct the problem. it might not be perfect, seeing as its a replica bumper, but should be a lot better looking than the 1 inch gap you have now. should close it down to under a half inch. and thats probably about as good as you’re going to get. it might fit flush, some of those replica bumpers have been known to fit almost perfect, but they are usually pretty sketchy when it comes to fitment. good luck
oh yeah, and you are very welcome. glad i could be of assistance
