I have a 1993 GS-R with 143.7whp and the following mods;
Short ram intake
4-2-1 Header
Full custom exhaust system (No Cat)
Zex 55 shot
(at the time of run this was all that was done)
I took my car to the track and ran a 15.577 with a top speed of 94.97, my 60 foot time was 2.659 and my reaction time was .542.
I was wondering why i read about stock gs-r’s running similar times when they are stock??? Is there some thing wrong???
do you have any added weight? (subs, 17" rims, etc)
is the 147whp w/ Zex or without?
what kind of shape is your suspension in? that can dramatically affect traction.
Is everything working like it should? (ie. shifter tight, clutch grabs well, etc).
To me, you should be getting more than 147whp with all those mods, which would indicate something else isn’t working properly (ignition, fuel supply, etc.)
You need to work on your 60’ time. My 91 RS w/ intake was able to do a 2.4? 60’ with winter tires on. Once you lower that, there should be a pretty good change in your 1/4 mi time.
That seems like a really good MPH, so the problem definately seems to be at the start of the track. Shifting tecnique also makes a difference.
ps. that is a good r/t, but it makes no difference in the 1/4 mile time BTW.
I have no added weight, every thing seems to work except my clutch is a litle loose feling. that is with out zex on the wheel hp.
and i now i have many more mods but haven’t ran it i replaced the wires with 10.4 mm wires goit the o2 sensor replaced skunk2 im cams&gears fpr&gauge aem fuel rail and it will be dyno tuned when i get it back…
