Hello G2ic, its been quite some time since i posted here last (opened a new account as my old was locked out for inactivity, and instead of getting Neil to unlock it, i wanted a different nickname… old was “93integraRS”)
anyway… after playing with D series for quite a few years, i’m back to swapping a B20B into my civic sedan.
the block is at the machine shop getting bored for 84.5mm 11:1 pistons.
i’ve got two b18a heads, a p75 head, and a P8R head. eventually i’m going to use the P8R head but it needs some chamber repair first.
here’s my problem. i picked up the p75 head for cheap… guy didnt know what he had… neither did i as i didnt look over it very closely.
when i got it home, i started looking at the cams and saw the crower cast into them then i looked at the end and saw the 62403 stamped there
then since i know they require spring/retainer kit, i went and looked at the head sure enough there’s aftermarket springs & retainers…
unfortunately they werent crower… and not titanium (at least that i could tell… unless someone “coated or anodized” them) they arent steel as they’re completely
non magnetic. also crower uses dual valve springs in their LS spring kit. these are single springs… but after removing them i know for sure they’re way more stiff,
when compared to the stock springs. there’s nothing on either spring or retainer to identify them. i’ve spent alot of time on google image search looking at all the
big name brand valve train manufacturers. crower, comp cams, ferrea, etc. cant compare these to any of them… i’m hoping someone else around here might
have seen the design and help me identify them. thanks!
here’s some pics:
and
and left side is stock, right is aftermarket
maybe they could be an oem upgrade… like ctr or itr or something…
actually, i finally found them… they’re Crane Cams part number 903-2000 … took me a week to figure out what they are LOL. right after i posted this LOL.
