Sounds like a wiring issue, but as I said a relay is not needed for the CIS, the white GWR lead can be connected directly to the CIS output lead, [blue/black], the CIS will work normally when starting the car with the key, [must depress clutch so CIS can supply the starter relay with the ground it needs] during remote start the white GWR lead will supply the needed ground, the starter relay needs only a low current ground, [less then 250mA] so the extra relay is not needed.
As for the second relay, “the second to the brake switch” being connected to the brake switch I have no idea why it would be, the remote start will have a brake input, [orange lead in 7pin harness] but it is a direct input, no relay needed.
I would check all the systems wiring, the CT3160M is for manual transmission cars and will need some extra wiring, hand brake and doors, [dome light] so it can be put into “ready mode” [a safety sequence to prevent starting car in gear]…
GETTING INTO READY MODE
Follow the steps outlined below to set the CT-3160M into READY
MODE:
- Run vehicle with doors and hood closed, then SET PARKING BRAKE SECURELY.
- Press and hold Button # 1 on transmitter until Parking lights flash 3 times.
- Turn Ignition “OFF” and remove key (vehicle should still be running).
- Exit the vehicle, close all doors then press and hold Button 1 on transmitter until engine shuts OFF and doors lock (if door lock option was installed).
NOTE: After step 1, steps 2, 3, and 4 must be done within 30 seconds of each other to protect the integrity of the READY MODE starting sequence. from page 2 of user guide. :stare:94
