Help me restore my DB2

I am finally in the process of planning the rebuild of my AGP DB2. My goal will be to bring it back to 100% stock.

Here is my wish list:

I want to install two rare(er) dealer options:

the factory CD player (single DIN under the dash). I have bought several of these from various scrap yards, but no luck. I am either missing the correct ‘cap’ (at the back of the stock cassette player the plug) or I need additional wiring harness.

the second option that I want is the factory alarm. I have purchased a used factory alarm but a few pieces are missing such as the LED but it does look fairly complete including the remote and matching ROM chips.

in either case, I am looking for someone to help me understand the wiring harness, or if someone was an Acura tech during the mid to late 90’s when these cars were dealer serviced and has the original dealer notes/install procedure I’d be very grateful if you can walk me through it.

if ANYONE has these two pieces new & in stock I’d be very interested in buying them.

I am also looking for the stock gsr muffler (only honda oem parts please)

edit: November 1, 2012 - its cold
I am going to centralize all my parts requests into one cohesive post rather then scatter them across the interweeb
Parts that I want:

74141-SK7-000 INSULATOR, HOOD. This is commonly found on all integras and its the underside of the hood (or sometimes called the hood blanket). must be mint, prefer not to pay for shipping, but I’ll drive to pick it up within an hour or two from GTA. new or used

08E50-SK7-201 SECURITY SYSTEM - this is the complete factory da security system. Searches on the net have also referenced the alarm with a new part number 08E50-SK7-203 and/or 08E50-SK7-210. strongly prefer brand new

18307-SK7-A72 MUFFLER, EX. - this is the factory GSR specific muffler. RS/LS/GS are listed as having part number 18307-SK7-505. So the A72 is a GSR specific part (and I want it lol) must be rust free, strongly prefer new but used in good shape will be ok

stock factory aztec green hood. NO aftermarket. Must have stock aztec green colour, ABS and emissions labels underneath. Will drive to pick it up, Canadian models only. Labels must be in both French and English.

whereas I cannot help you with parts I do wish you best of luck on your build!

post us some pics to timeline progress as you do the build!

up to see if there are any kind souls out there

Wow. You do have a challenge ahead of you. Patience and persistence are the key. I am a fairly new owner of a agp db2 myself. Its 100% stock with a fresh $4800 paint job. The paint and body was perfect up until a month ago when I was the victim of a hit and run. Fortunately the person was caught and his insurance is covering the damage. I like you am I’m pursuit of restoring my db2. I have I believe what is a factory alarm but I am not sure how to tell. I have found that through various threads through the years that the OEM alarm was made by kenwood. I hope that bit of info can help you out. Could you post some pictures of the components of the alarm system that you have? Are you familiar with all the factory/dealer options for the integra? Are you fortunate enough to have the armrest?

I have a factory Acura cd player with cassette deck. Everything works except cassette won’t play. If you need help with how the back looks. I can take some pics.

That would be GREATLY appreciated

Ill post some pics of what I have and the plug that comes out of the CD player that I cannot find the corresponding plug on the cabin chassis.

im not sure which to do first, body or engine/tranny but i think it’ll be body so i can get rid of all the extra panels.

The factory alarm is an alpine unit (8024 or 8025), the radios of those days were made by kenwood

I can post pics of the alarm I just need to dig it up from the basement.

I do not have the arm rest, I actually parted out another DB2 (killed me to send it to the grave) and it had the CDN oem arm rest and I didnt like it so I sold it.

pics of the cd players and the rear wiring harness that i have

Ever thought about picking up the factory 6 disc cd changer as well? Think it would be a great peice to the restore.

what the dickins … where did the pics go?

Hopefully I can get the hood blanket before the new year

This is a great idea!

Good luck to you OP. sounds like you have quite the challange ahead of you. GL
