The skirts I just cut the ends a few inches. Then epoxy welded the end caps back on. There’s also tabs on the inside of the skirts that need to be grinded down. It’s just a bunch of back and fourth cuting and checking, cutting checking…etc.
I found a site that has decent priced pair of sides…just need to check shipping costs though. It looks like there going to charge me $180 for residential but I can use my uncles shop address for $130. But i’m not sure if thats the price for full body kits or a set price.
will be molding my accord lip to the front bumper. might have to cut it up some so it wotn be terribly low. and also so it will flow better with the sides
With the lip you have mounted it would look good for the skirts to start a bit wider at the front (to match the way the lip appears to flare out at the wheel wells) and taper towards the rear
The flare on those skirts goes the opposite way to flow right on da’s I think.
(doesn’t tegboi run his skirts backwards?)
just my 2 cents (CDN thats like 1.5 cents american right)
not to thread jack but what are you gonna run as a rear lip to get the back to look as low as the front?
I’m not sure what i’m going to do for a rear lip yet. I’m more worried about finding the sideskirts first since it’s a pain to find something to match with the outward flare. Yea Tegboi put his on backwards but I believe there ek sides. I’m searching for a pair of WW RS sides or any knockoffs but everywhere i’ve been is asking around $250-$300 for just the sides not including shipping. If not i’m going junkyard hunting to see whats on some cars stock and do some measurements or check out some accord and civic aftermarket sides.
It’s looking good, is that the stock accord lip? I’m running low on money since i just had to replace both cv axels but now that schools over and once I find a job i’ll be ordering some ww style skirts and getting the car painted
looking good, do you have a set of wheels? if not what are you planning to get?
And as for me I would still like to paint the car but I don’t think i’ll get to do it for a while, still looking for a summer job and i’m running off of the money in my savings…So I think i’m going to spend some time and make my own fiberglass sideskirts. I’m planning on using my ek sides and getting another set of ek or dc sides from the junkyard so I can mold off those. If that comes out decent then i’ll fiberglass a rear lip.
I started to fiberglass my sideskirts. I decided to go with the ek style just making them so they sit lower. Well see how it comes out. I tried making a completely custom set with the mesh gutter wire but it’s way to hard to work with. But damn that resin is sticky as hell. Still have a long way to go.
Love the teg man! Another great Captiva! I’m thinkin of replacin’ my Type-R teg lip w/ a JDP style accord lip. (considering it’s got “custom” speed vents now.) Gonna keep my DC2 skirts though. Might add a 87-89 integra lip to the rear as well. Keep ya’ll posted.
