I just replaced my ICU (Integrated Control Unit), and it didn’t solve my UBER ANNOYING problem
Heres my issue, when I turn my turn signals on my door/rear hatch dummy lights flicker along with my clock (which always resets to 1:00). After a while the dummy lights start to “click” so I’m not sure if its a bad relay or not. If I have a door open with my key two clicks forward my clock doesn’t light up at all. Also my CD player doesn’t work (which it always has worked). My rear defroster switch stay lit up sometimes even if i push it “off”, and other times it will not light up at all even when I push it on. Also my door chimes don’t work and my dome and map lights don’t work at all. It is very frustrating so any help is greatly appreciate!!
wow, sounds like the fuse panel under the dash has a short in it. none of those things are integrated together, each is fused seperately, mostly. def odd. steal a fuse panel from a fellow 'tegger and see what that does?
Sounds more like a grounding problem, check your main grounds, batt., batt. to chassis and chassis to engine, do not just eyeball the connections, remove/clean/reconnect.
I would also look over all the dash harness and engine harness grounds. 94
Alrighty, I’ll try both of the above. I tried pulling my fuse box out when I did my ICU and I removed the 2 bolts and unplugged all the harnesses and still couldn’t get the thing out. I must have missed something lol
Also check the 12V+ constant power for the clock, if it resets to 1:00 every time ign. is turned off, then there is no 12V+ constant, it is the same fuse that powers your CD player. 94
I feel like such an idiot lol. I finally checked (pulled out and checked, not just spot checked) fuses and grounds and found my interior clock and radio fuse was blown. It was separated further down on the fuse so when i did my quick lazy spot check i couldn’t see it was separated. I had a bad cold for a couple weeks and didn’t feel like doing anything, but now problem is solved!
Yeaa, I just will always remember to always always always check fuses first (pull, check, replace method, not the quick lazy spot check haha). I was 5 mins away from leaving to goto the junkyard to buy an under-dash and under-hood fuse box.
Get yourself a 12V test light, [not LED type, normal bulb type] it is the most dependable way to test fuses, also has a lot of other uses when troubleshooting car electrical problems, even grounding problems. 94
Can anyone help? My amber corner lights in the front will not turn off. Only if i disconnect the battery. The “lights on” chime alarm chimes randomly during driving and when parked and key removed I don’t have a wire diagram. If anyone has experienced this and can assist I would greatly appreciate it. ~Jason
