So my problem.

Clarion DX-425 lol old Head Unit. i just ordered a new HU should come soon :smiley:
im excited.

but my question and help is that the Clarion kept blowing the 25 clear fuse …

im new to this automotive works. and how does that happen?

the player acts as if its off when the car is off . and i pop in a new fuse .

how does the fuse blow? whats the cause of it? did it ground with another bare wire?
too loud music? The speakers give too much power or something?

sorry if thats dumb. but im really curious.

What 25A fuse???

The stock fuses are fuse 14 - 15A, [hot at all times] and fuse 22 - 10A, [hot in acc. and run] in under dash fuse box, there should be no 25A fuse.

Either way, if the HU is blowing a 25A fuse there is a short, and a bad on.

If you replaced one of the above fuses, [10A or 15A] with a 25A you are taking a chance on burning your car to the ground, NEVER replace a blown fuse with a bigger one.

If the fuse blows when playing music loud, my guess is a speaker is shorting out at full excursion, that shorts out the HUs output and blows the fuse. 94
